A high output plus attractive housing: the T-40 from Metapace proves that both these properties may definitely be combined in a receipt printer. Measuring a mere 127 x 127 x 134 mm there is always enough space for the device, even where other receipt printers feel the squeeze – for example, on a small shelf, a cramped bar or a minimalistically designed counter. It is thus suited for retail just as much as for hospitality.
Receipt output is either on the front or the top, depending on which option better fits the work area. Even the receipt roll may be inserted from the top or the front, depending on the need. With a diameter of 82.5 mm the large roll capacity ensures that changes are seldom occurrences anyway. In case of a paper jam the entire paper feed mechanism lies conveniently under the housing cover.
Despite its compact size the Metapace T-40 achieves a print speed of 250 mm/sec., at a 203 dpi resolution and in greyscale. The results are texts, graphics, logos, barcodes as well as vouchers and coupons and more in convincing quality. The print width is either 57.5, 80 or 82.5 mm. A fully automatic cutter is also integrated.
The printer is compatible with Windows, Linux, OPOS and JPOS and is equipped with 2 MB RAM and 4 MB Flash memory. A broad spectrum of sensors, including a near paper end, black mark recognition and print head temperature always informs about the printers status. By the way: the print head is also exchanged without a lot of time or work effort. This aspect also allows the T-40 to reduce interruptions to an absolute minimum.
Metapace is known for devices which are immediately ready for use out-of-the-box. The T-40 has a triple interface with USB, RS-232 and Ethernet ports, as well as a cash drawer port. It is optionally Bluetooth-capable. Additionally, it is designed for long-term performance – a full 36-month warranty rounds out the Metapace T-40.
